This accessibility statement sets out the standard this site aims for. It also shows how that is tested. It reports what we measure, not what we hope.
This site aims for WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The W3C put it out in October 2023. It is the bar the Department of Justice points to. Courts hearing these claims point to it too.
We do that work in the code. This site runs no overlay widget, and it never will.
An overlay widget is a script you drop in that claims to fix a site for you. It does not.
In January 2025 the Federal Trade Commission settled with accessiBe for one million dollars. The FTC said the firm overstated what its AI tool could do. It also said the firm passed off paid reviews as honest ones. About a fifth of the suits filed in 2025 hit sites that had a widget in place.
Fixing it in the code is slower. It also works. That is what we do here.
Software checks alone are not enough. So this site is checked three ways.
Colour is measured, not judged. A script reads every colour in the stylesheet we ship. It then works out the contrast for each pair of text and background, in both themes. Normal text must hit 4.5 to 1. Large text and controls must hit 3 to 1. A miss fails the build. It does not warn. The brand green is just the kind of colour that looks clearer than it measures. So the meter decides, not a person.
Layout is measured in a real browser. Every page loads in Chromium at 1280 and at 390 pixels wide, in both themes. We check that no page scrolls sideways. We check that no button or link is smaller than 24 by 24 pixels. We check that the focus outline never hides behind the top bar.
We test with scripts turned off. The menu loads with JavaScript off, to prove every link can still be reached. Without that test, the menu could hide behind a button that will never open.
Clean HTML, with one H1 per page and headings in order. A skip link, first in the tab order on every page. Full keyboard use, with no traps and a focus outline you can see. Alt text on images that carry meaning, and empty alt on the rest. Buttons and links at 24 by 24 pixels or more. Reduced motion is honoured, which turns off every effect we do not need. Nothing is told by colour alone.
We report these rather than wait to be told.
The fonts load from Google Fonts. If that call is slow or blocked, the text falls back to a system font. You can still read it the whole time, because we let the text show first and swap the font in later.
Two pages are kept out of search while we finish their content. Both still work in full.
This accessibility statement covers the site as built. We update it as pages are added.
If any part of this site is hard or not possible for you to use, we want to know. That includes problems this page does not list. Get in touch through the route shown on this site. Tell us what went wrong, what page you were on, and what you were browsing with.
We aim to respond within five business days.
Meeting WCAG 2.2 Level AA cuts the risk of a barrier and of a legal claim. It does not remove either one. Any site can hold a fault nobody has found yet. An accessibility statement is not a promise that we got it all right.
