Custom Software Build Process

How Our Custom Software Build Process Works, Step by Step

Our custom software build process ships something usable in weeks, because small scopes beat big plans. Nobody wants a six month discovery phase.

Step One: Find the Expensive Minute

First we watch the actual work. Not a flowchart of the work, but the real thing, on a call, with your screen shared.

The costly part is usually smaller than people expect. Often it is one screen, one export, or one form. So we scope tightly around that.

Step Two: Fixed Scope, Fixed Price

Then you get a written scope and a fixed price. No hourly surprises, and no change orders for things we should have asked about.

If the build will not pay for itself, we say so here. That happens sometimes, and it saves everyone money.

Step Three: We Build It Together

This is the part most shops skip. We build live, with you on the call, so you watch decisions happen instead of receiving them.

Two things come out of that. First, the tool fits how you actually work. Second, your team already knows it on launch day, because they helped shape it.

Step Four: Handover

Finally you get the code, the database, and the documentation. Everything transfers to your accounts, not ours.

  • Source code, in your repository.
  • Database, under your control.
  • Credentials and hosting, in your name.
  • A written walkthrough for whoever maintains it next.

What the Custom Software Build Process Does Not Include

No lock-in, and no mandatory retainer. If you want us for upkeep, great. If you would rather hand it to an internal developer, that works too.

That is the whole point of owning it. Compare that to a rented platform, where leaving means a migration project. Caspio, for example, prices by features and capacity, so your costs move as your data grows.

How Long Does It Really Take?

Most first builds land in two to six weeks. Bigger systems ship in stages, so you get something working early rather than everything at once.

Speed comes from scope discipline, not from cutting corners. We would rather ship a narrow tool that works than a wide one that almost does.

Where to Start

Bring your current bill and your most annoying weekly task. We will tell you which one is worth fixing first.
